The ESU10 will be held from Monday 20 July to Friday 24 July 2026 on the campus of the University of Aveiro (Campus Universitário de Santiago) in Portugal.

The eternal "Portuguese Venice", the light-bathed city of Aveiro was recently elected by The Guardian readers as "the most romantic city in Europe". Embraced by the Aveiro Lagoon - Ria de Aveiro - Aveiro can be discovered by boat, on foot or by bike, riding one of the several free bikes of the city, the BUGA. Aveiro bursts with colour and joie de vivre!

Moliceiro boat
Glide through the colorful canals on a traditional moliceiro boat, a delightful way to experience the city. The moliceiro boat is an iconic symbol of Aveiro, right here where you are!  They are brightly painted, flat-bottomed boats that were traditionally used to collect seaweed (moliço) from the Ria de Aveiro lagoon .  Moliço was used as a fertilizer for the agricultural land around Aveiro.
Originally built between 1915-1917, it's a beautiful example of early 20th century industrial architecture. Made from red brick, it was once a major factory for the region. Today, it's no longer a factory, but rather a cultural center. The Centro Cultural e de Congressos hosts concerts, conferences and other events .
Explore the beautiful azulejo tiles decorating the train station, or delve into the world of ceramics at the Vista Alegre Museum.
